14th Annual Coconut Festival on Monday
If you love coconut, you’ll definitely want to visit Grand Bahama Island on Monday, April 9, for the 14th Annual Coconut Festival.
Held at the small seaside village of Pelican Point, known as the “Home of the Coconuts,” the Annual Coconut Festival is a signature community event featuring authentic Bahamian culture, cuisine and century’s old traditions.
Feast on coconut dishes such as coconut jimmy, coconut shrimp, barbecue ribs with coconut sauce, coconut rice, coconut tart and more, as well as a variety of coconut beverages including the famous Bahamian drink gully wash – made of coconut water.
There will also be an “everything coconut under the tent” display and coconut games such as coconut eating and barking contests. Coconut shell crafts and souvenirs such as jams, soap, coconut-scented candles, etc., will also be available.
The Grand Bahama Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band and other Bahamian entertainers will keep event-goers entertained throughout the day with performances.
We hope you can join in on the fun. Grand Bahama is just a quick flight or boat ride away!
